Behind the scene pics from the shooting of Respiration.
The following are pictures that were taken while we were shooting, both in Philadelphia and central PA.

SHOOTING THE FINAL SCENE.
On the right is Tom, he was our all around handyman while in Philly.

FINAL SCENE PT.2. In the back are Cliff and Corey, two of the best crew members we could have asked for.

PREPARING FOR THE CLOSE UP. Courtney has come to call this the most uncomfortable shot of the film.

COURTNEY AT WORK.

COURTNEY AT WORK PT.2. He hated that shoulder harness.

COURTNEY AT WORK, PT3. Preparing to shoot A.J. going
into a store w/ the help of Corey.

PREPARING THE SHOT. From left, A.J., Corey, Brad, Courtney, and Gary.

SHOOTING THE CHIPS.
These are chip charts and are important
(so Courtney tells us)

THE UN-DYNAMIC DUO. Courtney and Brad in the back of our 'grip' truck.

DELETED #1. Brad directing A.J. and Gary's father, Paul, in the deleted 'Coffee Shop' scene.

DELETED #2. Courntey and Corey practicing the never-to-be-seen 'whip pan/dolly' move.

DELETED #3. Brad and A.J. on the 'Coffee Shop' set.

RUN COREY RUN. What do you do when you leave the light meter in the car, three blocks away? I don't know. We send the fat kid.

COREY? This is Corey, we can't explain it.

COREY? PT.2. Apparently 'surfing' in the truck. Again, we can't explain it.

FRAMING THE SHOT. Or at least that we think we're doing.

FRAMING THE SHOT PT.2 When in doubt, hold up your hands, it makes you look like you know what you're doing.

TRACKING. Courtney and Brad follow A.J. through 'the streets of Philadelphia.'

THE MAN IN CHARGE. Self-proclaimed 'Uber-Producer,' Gary tells Brad where we're going next.

A FORCE FROM ABOVE.
Gary looks down while Courntey shoots from high above.

A GOOD DIRECTOR.
We found it best when Brad got out of the way so we could shoot.

WAITING. What most of filmmaking is: waiting, always waiting for something.

THE STOOP. What came to be known as the stoop, where we shot the exterior of Tariq's apartment.(actually the outside of Gary's apt. in Philly)

SHOOTING THE SKY.

AT NIGHT. Brad and A.J. discuss the scene.

DEPTH OF FIELD. Courney measures to make sure we shoot it in focus.

THE ALLEY. This is the location we used for our last night scene,"in the alley."

THE MAN
Lead Actor, A.J. Mason

COURTNEY AT THE CAN.
Or 'Cour-ta-ney' as he is known to some, before the Penn State Film Festival.
